I had a lot of fun with transparency with this pic, as well as with the pic in general. I even made up a story to go with it!
STORY:
She was betrothed to a fisherman, but the fisherman decided to make more money before the marriage, so he set out for a six month fishing trip, promising to return with his own boat and enough money to have a large piece of land. He told her that six months after he leaves she should dress in her best kimono and wait for him at the shore.
He didn't return that day, or the next. For two years she would stand by the shore from dusk till sunset watching for him. Her father meanwhile found her another suitable husband, but she could not let herself marry another. The night after the announcement, four years to the day that her betrothed was supposed to return, she gave herself to the sea.
On this day every year you can still see her standing at the ocean's side, watching for sails on the horizon.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
